Lap up the last few weeks of summer leisure while you sample over 25 Napa and Sonoma Valley wineries, delight in local cuisine, and are serenaded by live music on the shores of sunny Lake Tahoe.

Go ahead — lust after vintage cars because there are plenty in store for you at this Americana extravaganza!

Truckee-Tahoe Air Fair and Family Festival is a FREE inaugural event, complete with live music, kid-friendly activities, a food court and beer garden, aircraft fly-bys, static aircraft displays with pilot docents, free FAA Chapter 1073 Young Eagle flights for kids ages 8 to 17. You can even ride your bike and park at the free Truckee Trails Foundation Bike Valet, from 7am to 4pm.

Opening Ceremony kicks off at 11am. Kids fly for free 8am to 12pm.

A highly coveted “must-do” summer event, don’t miss the 40th anniversary season featuring The Two Gentlemen of Verona. Pack a picnic and watch the sun set on Lake Tahoe’s East Shore while Shakespeare comes alive on stage.

Shakespeare’s The Two Gentlemen of Verona is one the whole family can enjoy, and full of comedic relief. Bosom buddies Valentine and Proteus are Verona’s closest comrades, but their friendship is put to the ultimate test when Proteus forsakes his beloved Julia and competes for the affections of Valentine’s newfound love, the strong-willed Silvia.

Tickets start at $15 (Youth) $25 (Adult) and vary in service and assigned seating.

Experience the lavish lifestyle of the late Florence and Sydney Ehrman with many entertaining activities at Sugar Pine Point State Park – live bands, historical talks (one by a living descendant of Ehrman, Frances Dinkelspiel), in-residence guided tours, and even a vintage car display! There will be an abundance of children’s activities, where they can pick up a mallet and play croquet, or try their hands at pick-up-sticks or jacks.  It’s all about having fun 1930s style.

Pack your bathing suits and towels for the whole family, and enjoy a picnic on the sprawling lakefront lawn. See just why this spot was a private summer retreat for 60 years in the Hellman-Ehrman family.

In a beautiful Lake Tahoe park setting, kick off the summer with refreshing libations from over 20 breweries and cider distributors at the 7th Annual Truckee Optimist Brew Fest on June 9th from 1-5pm! Enjoy live music by “Drop Theory” while diving into brats and sausages fresh off  the barbecue. Place your bid for the silent auction and be sure to purchase a souvenir t-shirt on your way out!

Resort at Squaw Creek: Memorial Day Weekend

There are few words to encapsulate the wacky and beloved tradition of the Annual Cushing Crossing!  Squaw would not be Squaw without the Cushing Crossing. This pond skimming spectacle embodies late spring in Lake Tahoe, and although it signifies the end to a ski season, it’s an event you don’t want to miss!

With judges, emcees, and usually Tahoe bluebird weather, you will definitely have some good laughs at the 22nd Annual Cushing Crossing on April 29th at 12pm.  Check out video from last year’s event, and come out to cheer on others as they skim, flip and tumble their way across Cushing Pond.

Also, if you want to participate, arrive early. Registration is limited to the first 50 entrants. Registration begins at 9am at the KT Base Bar.
