This unique race returns to the West Shore for its 15th year. Join in on the fun on Saturday, April 6th for the annual Gates and Wakes. This two-part competition has its participants begin by testing their snow-skiing skills by racing gates at the Homewood Mountain Resort. After three runs, this competition goes a step further as participants regroup at the lake for the water skiing section. If you participate, be careful not to fall in the water as your score depends on it!
This all-day event is sure to be fun for contestants and viewers alike. The festivities and registration begin at 8 am and the day wraps up with a Silent Auction in the North Lodge, where all proceeds benefit the High Fives Foundation. This Truckee based nonprofit organization “supports the dreams of outdoor action sports athletes by raising injury prevention awareness while providing resources and inspiration to those who suffer life-altering injuries”.
